Overview
SPE Expert Controller Plus will provide all the capabilities of SPE Expert Controller but additionally will support multiple simultaneous amplifier connections and include support for all SPE Expert amplifiers including the original Expert 1k-fa.
It is currently in development (pre-beta test) with an early preview available to anyone on request. It’s available for all macOS 14 and later platforms via Apple Test Flight. Description
SPE Expert Controller Plus will provide the capability to remotely manage the configuration and control of multiple connected SPE Expert 1k-FA, 1.3k-FA, 1.5k-FA, 1.5k-Taurus or 2k-FA RF amplifiers using a USB, RS-232 or TCP/IP interface.
SPE Expert Controller Plus is a complete redesign of the successful SPE Expert Controller with a focus on managing multiple simultaneous amplifier connections whilst retaining much of the ‘look and feel’ of SPE Expert Controller. Key capabilities such as Accessibility are retained and further improved using a dedicated window. The ‘original’ window presenting the LCD display and buttons, RF information and Health are retained but new more compact windows contains just LED’s, just Buttons and the LCD are also available for those who prefer a more minimalistic view of their amplifiers. The ability to ‘float’ a window above other macOS windows has also been extended to all windows that present a view of the amplifier.
Roadmap
The plan is to provide ‘Preview’ builds prior to a Alpha, then Beta test phases. Once Beta testing is complete the App will become available for purchase via the Apple App store. Preview, Alpha and early Beta testing will be accomplished with those who request to be part of that testing. The latter part of Beta testing will include a general ‘public’ test period where anyone can download try/test.
SPE Expert Controller Plus key feature support
During Preview especially, but also during Alpha and Beta testing the App will be evolving with new capabilities, existing capabilities expanded, so defects may come/go and the UI may change. These builds will also not have a User Guide or any support.
